Reviewing for the Exam

Subject SAT

Now I am sounding like a broken record 😊 This is another topic that does not have a clear Yes/No answer.

The simplest answer is – It depends and its up to you.

I know that is not of much help. So, let me share some details that might be useful.

  1. Subject SAT is optional for most colleges. However, please check your preferred colleges to check if they mandate any subject SAT tests.

  2. Subject SAT is taken for following reasons:

    1. To strengthen your application.

    2. To demonstrate expertise in a particular subject.

    3. College credit may be awarded for scores of 700 or higher.

  3. Typically subject SAT tests are truly optional, and not sending Subject Test scores will not hurt your application

  4. In a science/Math SAT Subject Test, even a perfect score is just about 80th percentile / one in five students taking the test, achieve a perfect score

In summary, if you have time and if you are confident of a particular subject, I recommend taking the subject sat.
