Do only those activities which you can freely tell anyone else
Many times you will be wondering "Am I doing the right thing?". A simple way to find out is to answer the question "Will I be able to tell my family/friends/colleagues/anyone-concerned-with-the-topic about what I am going to do?". If the answer is yes, then most likely you are doing the right thing.
Let me illustrate with a few examples. Think about the following situations:
Should I take a sick leave and go to a casino/resort with friends?
Should I cheat on an important examination?
Should I sneak out of home and go for a party without my parent's permission?
I am sure you can come with a lot more examples and I hope you got the point. These examples are relatively simple situations which have obvious right things to do. However, there will be challenging times in your life when the wrong action is very easy to do and gives momentary satisfaction/relief, but it comes back to bite you later which leads you to spend a lot of time repenting your actions and trying to mitigate the damage.

So, long story short, do only those actions which you can freely tell anyone without fear of guilt or repercussions. For example, if you want to go to a party, seek permission from corresponding stakeholders who need to be aware of this and go the party only if you have the permission.
